The Israeli Wine Lovers are organizing a wine tour to Israel in August 2010. The tour was designed by Israelis who love to show “the other side of Israel” and led by a professional Israeli tour guide. It combines visits to wineries, artisan dairies and olive presses with exploring the many attractions Israel has to offer. With accommodations in upscale hotels and Kibbutz guest houses it offers unique views of the breathtaking Israeli landscape and chances to interact with “real” Israelis. It is different from the traditional, biblical and archeological vacation themes. The tour gives “first-timers” a true flavor of “Israeli living”, and represents an “off-the-beaten path” option to those who have visited Israel many times and wish to combine their next visit with their love and interest in wine and artisan food. The tour starts with one or two morning activities, i.e. a spice farm visit and workshop, artist colony, Druz market, a dairy farm visit and workshop, nature preserve, etc., followed by afternoon visit and wine tasting at a winery with the vintners. Each day ends with an unusual Israeli meal, some in seaside restaurants, and a stay in a nearby a Kibbutz guest house/hotel. The program strikes the right balance between wine and non-wine related activities.
